Worship at Ettrick & Yarrow Churches

We are a friendly ‘local’ Church family which is firmly rooted in our rural communities.

Our Services comprise a range of hymns both traditional and modern, bible readings and teaching of the Word of God. We celebrate Holy Communion together every two to three months (approximately).

We always enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits (or if we’re lucky, some home baking) after each service which gives us a chance to meet any visitors and catch up with each other.

As well as the usual Christian Church  highlights throughout the year such as Harvest and Easter, we also hold other notable services.

  • We have an annual ‘Lambing Service’ to recognise the importance of farming to our local community and to give thanks for the lambs born this year, and the farmers who care for them.
  • We continue to hold the historic ‘Blanket Preaching’ open air service on the hillside overlooking St Mary's Loch.
  • At Christmas we have a traditional candle-lit family ‘Christingle Service’ in Kirkhope Church which is especially floodlit for the occasion.
